Last September 16, 2022, in a rare and opportune time, seven out of the nine daughters of Mr. Miguel and Mrs. Cecilia “Cecy” Magsaysay visited the school and attended the Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of their mother who passed away last September 5, 2022. Fr. Manny Sta. Maria, in his homily, remembered the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Magsaysay whose lives have been dedicated to the service of the poor. The couple had been helping the school since its earliest years. After the Eucharist, the seven sisters introduced themselves and told the group the life lessons they learned from their parents. Some of the learners also had the opportunity to interview them and get to know their family. The visit ended with a quick tour of the school and a salu-salo. It was a brief yet momentous encounter. Through the Magsaysay sisters, the legacy of Mr. and Mrs. Magsaysay which centers on improving the quality of human life and uplifting the dignity of the poor lives on.
