After a prolonged hiatus due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, the reawakened passion of Assumptans for competitions signals a collective desire to showcase talent, hard work, and innovation. Last October 15, 2023, The Safer Schools: Pioneering Road Safety Innovation Contest, a competition organized in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the University of the Philippines – National Center for Transportation Studies, held a series of mentoring sessions which included online activities, mentoring sessions, and pitch presentations. The Safer Schools: Pioneering Road Safety Innovation Contest is a significant initiative aimed at encouraging young minds to develop creative solutions to enhance road safety in the vicinity of educational institutions. The contest is designed to foster creativity, collaboration, and innovation among our youth, with the ultimate goal of creating safer environments for students in participating schools.

The school was represented by the team’s name “ATHSpiring Innovators”, which was composed of young trailblazers:  Ibañez, Aaron Lordito B. from 12-2 Ezekiel; Tayag, Jov Martin D. from 11-3 St. John; Dagdag, Maria Alessandra F. from 12-3 Hosea; Lugue, Jhasmine M. from 12-3 Hosea; and Peranil, Althea Colin L. from 12-2 Ezekiel. These dedicated senior high school learners attended all the series of activities prompted by the said competition.

Moreover, the extraordinary innovative learners not only represented Assumpta Technical High School but also emerged victorious in the competition. They ranked 6th out of more than 130 schools from 14 regions across the country who joined the contest. They were initially trimmed down to 12 and expected to create a poster that summarized their proposed plan for road safety within the vicinity of the school.

In the face of fierce competition, they stood tall, showcasing not only their talent but also the spirit of the entire institution. This victory is a testament to the academic excellence that defines an Assumptan. Their success reflects positively on all of us. Their accomplishments are not only a source of pride for themselves but for our entire Assumpta community.

To the victorious students, may this be just the beginning of a journey filled with continued success and triumphs. Congratulations once again, and thank you for making us all proud! Cheers to our champions!
