SAN SIMON, PAMPANGA– The first Parents Continuing Education Program (PACEP) at Assumpta Technical High School took place onsite last Saturday, August 31, 2024. This program aimed to enhance collaboration between home and school, ensuring a better learning experience and environment for the learners.
The program began with registration, opening at 7:30 AM, where parents were warmly welcomed by the faculty and staff. The program then officially kicked off with the opening remarks from Ms. Arlene S. Carlos, the school directress, which was followed by an introduction video of the faculty and staff of ATHS for the current school year. This served as an opportunity for parents to familiarize themselves with the Assumption formators responsible for their child’s academic and spiritual journey.

Subsequently, Mrs. Anne Maurielle Batu, the PTA President, presented the recent programs, accomplishments, and financial statements of the association. A crucial part of her presentation included a discussion on the new guidelines for traffic management within the school premises, aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of Assumptans and parents during drop-off and pick-up times.
Following the assembly of parents at Assumpta Court 1, the community was divided into two focused discussion groups: one for parents of children from pre-school to Grade 4, and another for parents of learners from Grades 5 to 12. In each group, Assumpta’s Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Objectives, Three Pillars, and Rules and Regulations were highlighted. This allowed the parents to recognize how learners are formed holistically in the school, a transformation of head, heart, and hand. The session ended with the discussion and agreement of the parents and teachers on the home and school partnership.

The PACEP extended until late morning with parents engaging in various activities and discussions designed to foster a strong partnership between the school and the home. The event concluded with a positive response from parents, many of whom expressed appreciation for the school’s efforts to involve them more closely in their children’s education.
ATHS, with the other stakeholders, hopes the first PACEP would be the beginning of the partnership of parents and school throughout the school year.
