Gathered within the welcoming embrace of Assumpta from February 10-12, 2024, were learners, parents, employees, and alumni, all united for the most-awaited Family Days Celebration, which was launched with the theme “United for Peace as One Assumpta Family.”

The welcoming committee initiated the festivities with a vibrant display of joy along Magsaysay Road throughout the three-day celebration. The committee organized a remarkable start with a joyous street dance performed by selected Grade 7 learners, partnered with an equally delightful treat: free taho. Learners from different grade levels also volunteered to greet everyone with their smiles and flaglets.

Each day was ushered in with a profound sense of spiritual renewal through its opening liturgy. On Day 1, the community gathered as invited parents, Mr. Pelaez and Mrs. Mercado, graced the occasion with their heartfelt sharing, speaking on their parental narratives. On Day 2, a serene Sunday dawned, with a particularly sacred aura, as the school community gathered for a Eucharistic Celebration presided by Fr. Benhur Borja. For Day 3, the spotlight shifted to the learners themselves as selected learners shared their personal familial experiences, answering the question “How do you, as children, contribute to maintaining a sense of togetherness and harmony within our family?” and the likes.

Family Days Celebration at Assumpta wouldn’t be complete without the diverse MAPEH dance presentations, with each grade level offering a unique showcase of talent and creativity. Each grade level from preschool to Grade 10 brought its unique flair to the event. Different structured activities were also organized. This year, various clubs, specializations, departments, and organizations were given the chance to participate in designing and setting up their own booths. The second day of the event was a showcase of specializations as the TLE Bazaar unveiled its offerings.

As the three-day celebration drew to a close, learners gathered at Assumpta Court 1 for the closing program. Spearheaded by the MAPEH Department, representatives from each grade level took the center stage, mesmerizing the audience with their Cultural Dance Show performance. Following this, the atmosphere was further electrified as the culminating video, a collaborative effort between the ATecHS org and the Humanistas, illuminated the screen, highlighting the bonds formed and memories made throughout this significant event in the school.
